HOW DO YOU EAT WHILE RUNNING?
EATING WHILE RUNNING
Have you ever walked around eating? Using your hand you eat your food, while using your legs to walk. This is just like eating while running. Although there’s a lot of different factors, so let’s break it down.
WHAT’S AN AID STATION?
An aid station is literally a station for aid. Aid stations can be anything from a person standing with a water bottle, a tent, table with lots of different food, an ambulance…etc. but it usually has lots of different options for food and different types of drinks as well. For most ultra runners these are sanctions during a race or a landmark to the next few miles or mountains that lie ahead.
1. THE ULTRA RUNNER
I’m going to call this one the Ultra Runner because this really only happens during ultra’s: Basically, after running 80 miles people like to sit down and eat at aid stations. So, instead of running and eating they are sitting down during a race or just standing. Totally depends. But this one of the ways runners “eat while running.”
2. THE QUICKY
During a shorter race, or a really fast moving one, runner’s tend to eat gels. It’s like a yogurt or applesauce type of thing, it’s a gel, a gew, and it’s easy to digest while running. Other times runners are running and eating a granola bar or cookie. And during these races they are eating and running at the sametime.
